Our practice treats a variety of neurological conditions including:
Dr. Silva will often show the scanner to apprehensive patients prior to scheduling the patients for a scan. Also available are nerve conduction studies undertaken by a Caldwell 5200 NCS machine. This is undertaken for patients with Neuropathies and Radiculopathies. The EEG is undertaken with the Nihon Kohden machine, with the patient laying back in a comfortable reclining chair. Also available on the premises is SANO Rehab, a 400 square foot rehabilitation facility specializing in pain syndromes such as back (lumbar) and neck (cervical) radiculopathies treated by Dr. Silva.
Modalities commonly used at SANO rehab include Moist Hot Packs, Ultrasound, Massage and light Electrostimulation of the affected muscles. An exciting new modality in use is lontophoresis, in which a strong pain killer and a steroid are introduced, not through injection, but across the skin barrier, giving both immediate and long lasting pain relief.
